Re-inventing local governments
Dr. Nick Fontanilla is the Director and President of I-Metrics Asia-Pacific Corporation which produces and publishes leading economic indicators for Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Department of Tradeand Industry, and National Economic Development Authority. He also serves as a Trustee and Fellow at the Institute of Solidarity in Asia, a non-profit, non-stock corporation advocating good governance in the government sector.
Mr. Francis Estrada currently serves as the Chairman of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). Throughout his 40 year career as an international investment banker, he has co-founded and managed international investment institutions and enterprises in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Turkey, and the Philippines. He is also the Chairman of Armed Forces of the Philippines Multi-sectoral Council. He formerly chaired of the De La Salle University Board of Advisor and the Development Bank of the Philippines Advisory Council.
Mr. Rex Drilon is a trustee in the Institute for Solidarity in Asia. He holds multiple directorships in various organizations across different sectors. He is the Chairman of the National Issues Committee of the Management Association of the Philippines, Board Adviser Institute of Corporate Directors, Independent Director of Metrobank – and many others. He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Ortigas and Company.
Atty. Pedro "Pete" Maniego is currently the Chairman of the Energy Lawyers Association of the Philippines. His leadership spans different sectors – he is currently a Trustee and Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors and a Trustee of the Judicial Reform Initiative . He is also active in efforts to address climate change, serving as Senior Advisor to the Climate Change Commission He was former Chairman of the National Renewable Energy Board until 2016, during which major mechanisms to promote RE development were implemented.
Ms. Tiongson's expertise ranges from turning around businesses, corporate banking, to fundraising. Starting as a traditional banker spanning 22 years with National Australia Bank and Philippine National Bank, Ms. Tiongson is presently the President of a multi-billion ING-formed Special Purpose Vehicle OPAL Investments Inc. She is also a Governance advocate, serving as a Trustee of Institute of Corporate Directors, Trustee and Governance head of Fintech Philippines Association, and Vice-Chair of Governance of the Management Association of the Philippines.
